Clear Lake City, TX (77058, 77059, 77062) is a master-planned community in Harris County and surrounded by Clear Lake, Taylor Lake and Galveston Bay. Most of Clear Lake City lies in the corporate limits of Houston, with some areas in Pasadena and Taylor Lake Village. Clear Lake City is adjacent to NASA’s Johnson Space Center and many other aerospace companies including Boeing and Lockheed Martin boasting a high concentration of engineers. Clear Lake City is also known for it’s large Asian American community inside the city of Houston. Clear Lake Intermediate, Space Center Intermediate, and Clear Lake High School serve the residents of Clear Lake City.
El Lago, TX (77586) is in Harris County with a population of 2,706. It is surrounded by Clear Lake, Taylor Lake and Galveston Bay. El Lago is best known for the Apollo Astronauts who lived here, including Neil Armstrong, Ed White, Alan Sheppard and many, many more. Pupils in El Lago attend schools in Clear Creek Independent School District including Ed White Elementary School (El Lago), Seabrook Intermediate School (Seabrook), and Clear Falls High School. Bay Area Charter Elementary School is a state charter school located in El Lago, Texas.
Friendswood, TX (77546) is inside the Houston area in both Galveston and Harris counties and has a population of 36,000. Friendswood is known for big trees and luxurious homes. It has a rich history, having been originally founded by members of the Quaker Society in 1895. Popular places to visit in Galveston include the many beaches From East to Jamaica Beach and six amazing historical districts containing over 60 significant collections of 19th-century buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places including the Bishop’s Palace. Galveston has many restaurants and entertainment venues on the The Strand and hosts many popular events including Mardi Gras. League City is the former site of a Karankawa Indian village and was settled by three families in 1873. Clear Creek and Clear Springs High Schools are located in League City. League City also has a 38,000-square-foot YMCA located on League City Parkway.
Kemah, TX (77565) is in Galveston County facing Galveston Bay with a population of 6,389. Nassau Bay is a small, close knit community of less than 5000 people, many who enjoy a very short commute to work at NASA, Boeing and Lockheed Martin. The median income for each household in Nassau Bay is $57,353. Nassau Bay is served by the Clear Creek Independent School district, Robinson Elementary in Pasadena, Space Center Intermediate and Clear Creek High School in League City.
Pasadena, TX (77501, 77502, 77503, 77504, 77405, 77506) is within Houston, The Woodlands and Sugar Land metropolitan area. Pasadena was first settled by a rancher named Sam Allen in 1843 and founded in 1893 by John H. Burnett of Galveston and was named after Pasadena (CA) for its lush vegetation. Popular places to visit in Pasadena include the Pasadena Historical Museum, the Bay Area Museum and the Armand Bayou Nature Center. Pasadena might be best know as the location for the file “Urban Cowboy” and hosts a Rodeo annually. Seabrook, TX (77586) is in Harris County on Galveston Bay with many water front luxury homes and a population of 11,952. Seabrook is known for its fish markets on Waterfront Drive where resident shrimpers and fishermen bring in their catches daily. Besides bordering the bay, Seabrook also encompasses marshes where runoff from inland fields drain into the bay. Artists from all over Texas have participated in The Pelican Project, which has been used to generate exposure to Seabrook’s many bed and breakfasts, close family values, available water attractions and unique downtown of small businesses. Taylor Lake Village, TX (77586) is in Harris County on one side of Taylor Lake. Taylor Lake Village has a community park at 500 Kirby Boulevard, behind City Hall. The park features picnic areas, jogging trails, playgrounds, restrooms, a pond, sports fields and courts, fishing and a 15-hole disc golf course installed in 2009.
